Our New Business

Yea, I know it's been awhile...A couple of months ago Jim and I decided to start a karaoke business.  It's been one of his dreams for a while so I wanted to make it happen.  We spent months researching systems and scouting out the nightlife for places to talk to about performing.  Now, it seems as if it all may be paying off! We have already done a few shows with more scheduled and more several prospects surfacing.  I will be posting here alot more frequently now.  Sorry for the delay between posts!

Improving

I'm one of those who always sticks to the recipe.  Other than an occasional change of spice or nut, I'm not very proficient in what mixes and what doesn't. Anyway, I decided to make some bread-machine bread this morning, so after researching the net for a good whole wheat bread recipe, I dumped some water and olive oil into the machine's pan.  Deciding to go ahead and gather remaining ingredients, I opened the freezer to find I didn't have the whole wheat flour afterall.  In fact, all I had was self-rising flour.  Determined to make bread, I again researched for a recipe.  All I found was alot of strong recommendations not to try using the self-rising flour as it would not work.  This just wasn't going to do ~giggle~. With 3 tablespoons of olive oil already invested in this, I was going to try putting something together regardless of the outcome! Three hours later and no explosion from the machine, it was ready for a taste test.  Unbelievably, it tasted great!!!! Yay for me!  Here's all I used:

1 Cup Warm Water
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
3 Tablespoons Honey
1 Egg
3 Cups Self-Rising Flour
1 Tablespoon Sugar
I Packet Active Dry Yeast
(prepared according to bread machine's settings)

In the meantime I would like to congratulate my cousin Rita and her marriage last week (photo below)! I hope you guys are extremely happy and blessed!
